Serenity Show Stable & The Serenity Project Featured in The Redding Sentinel

May 15, 2025
We are honored to be featured in the latest issue of The Redding Sentinel, highlighting the story behind Serenity Show Stable and our non-profit, The Serenity Project.
The article shares Ruth Nicodemus’s lifelong journey with horses, from how they helped her heal from childhood trauma to building a thriving show stable and founding an equine therapy non-profit serving trauma survivors, veterans, and individuals in recovery. It also gives readers a glimpse into the heart of our programs—from riding lessons and competitions to equine-assisted therapy sessions that create profound connections between people and horses.
We are grateful to the Sentinel for helping us share our mission of horses, healing, and hope with the greater Redding community.

Sit Down with Ruth Nicodemus, Head Trainer & Owner of Serenity Show Stable
July 30, 2024

Ruth Nicodemus, head trainer and owner of Serenity Show Stable, reflected on a decade of growth, learning, and dedication to the equestrian sport. From starting with just six horses to building a premier training program in Redding, CT, Ruth credits her success to strong mentors, an incredible team, and a commitment to always putting the horse first. She shared insights on the evolution of the sport, the importance of fundamentals, and the value of saying "no" when necessary to prioritize safety and progress. Beyond competition, Ruth's passion led to the creation of The Serenity Project, a nonprofit helping trauma victims find healing through horses. Looking ahead, Ruth remains dedicated to helping riders define and achieve their own goals—whether it’s competing at WEF or simply deepening their love for horses. With a new "Winter Warrior" program and an unbeatable support team, the future of Serenity Show Stable is brighter than ever!
